Hello
I run a company called www.nakedwines.com, an on-line farmer’s market.
The idea behind the company is to help
- wine drinkers get better wine, for less money, than they can in their local supermarket
- wine makers break into the UK market on the basis of talent, rather than marketing budget
The idea came from speaking to winemakers all around the world. They all have the same problem. They (the good ones at least) make great wine, but can’t get it sold. Unless they stop making wine, buy a suit and a plane fare, come to the UK, book into a Travellodge and spend their lives selling.
So they can either have good cheap wine that does not sell. OR to get sales they have to sacrifice quality to pay for the expenses of marketing, so the wine gets worse and the price goes up
We want to break that cycle by connecting wine drinkers directly to winemakers – hence the idea of a farmers market
What do we do that’s different
1. You can speak to the winemaker and to other customers
2. We tell you which wines you will like – and which you won’t
3. we deliver next day for £4.99
4. our wines are selected by our 100 strong customer tasting panel
If you have any feedback I would love to hear it – please post on www.nakedwines.com/rowan
